Termite & Pest

Termites can cause damage before you ever realize you have a pest problem

Termites are scary because they can cause extensive damage before you ever realize you have a pest problem. They eat wood from the inside out, so their presence is hard to detect unless you know what to look for. Everything will look solid and sturdy until it's too late. Consider that some nests can harbor hundreds of thousands of hungry mouths to feed.

The first step to avoiding a termite problem is having your home regularly inspected for termites. Because termites feast 24/7 and can strike your home at any time, it's recommended that you have your home inspected at least once a year, or anytime you suspect termite activity.

What to Expect from your Termite Inspection:

The ENC HomeWorks Pest Control Contractors have been providing termite solutions for years. Needless to say, they've developed a method that works and they can tell you exactly what to expect from your Wood Destroying Insect Report (WDIR):

  • Pre-inspection: upon your initial call, your may share  your initial concerns and any particular needs you may have with the ENC HomeWorks Call Coordinator.  The Coordinator will notate your concerns to share with the Inspector to ensure they are prepared upon inspection. In order to expedite the process, please be sure to clear up any clutter against the walls and try to remove items that are stored against the perimeter of the premises. The specialist will need access to all walls especially.
  • During the inspection: The inspector will examine both the outside and inside of your property, including the patios, porches, garage and the basement (if applicable). The contractor will also look for possible leaks in areas with high moisture content such as the bathrooms and kitchen. Termite inspections can take. The specialists will be searching for termites themselves (dead or alive), termite pellets, termite wings, and termite tubes.
  • Post-inspection: After the inspection is complete, you will receive a report that describes anything the specialist found, whether it be the pests themselves or damage they left behind. The report may also provide recommendations for treatment or repair going forward.

Termite Inspection Next Steps:

One of our ENC HomeWorks representatives will work with you to set up a convenient time for one of our Independent Contractor specialists to come out and inspect your property. Though the pest control specialists are always on the lookout for problematic pests, they will specifically look for signs of termites in all of the places where termites might hide. After the termite inspection is complete, your specialist may prepare an estimate for treatments for you, keeping your unique needs in mind. You can then work together to decide the best course of action for termite treatments and follow-up.
